The LARA training programme

The LARA training programme for adult educators comprises a delivery framework for use with leaders of learning groups. Partners worked initially with a comprehensive planning grid accompanied by resource suggestions that was the outcome of discussion at transnational meetings.

This grid addresses the major themes of the LARA project:

  • Ageing and Learning
  • Learning Literacies
  • Making Experience Count
  • Facilitation

and models schemes of work, including suggestions for activities and resources.

Pilot training within in the project engaged a variety of target audiences: professional teachers, volunteer teachers, people working in other services (occupational therapists, social workers).

As a result of evaluation and discussion of the pilot training courses and of the subsequent roll-out of training as part of the project’s sustainability plans, the draft training framework was modified and abridged. This version now appears in the toolkit section of the training package, downloadable by clicking here.
