The LARA training package
The main product of the LARA project is its training package. It is aimed at trainers wishing to upskill teachers, either volunteer or paid, in a face to face situation. It is also for individuals with an interest in improving performance through self study.
Content addresses how ageing and learning are intertwined and what teachers must do in order to embrace key ageing themes in their teaching. Development has drawn on the experience of project partners and the wider networks to which they have access. This experience is articulated through: LARA research; pilot course; training courses.
The final product is in 3 parts:
- A guide that contains background information and advice on use and target groups.
- A manual that explains the key themes of LARA: ageing; learning and learning literacies; making experience count.
- A toolkit that provides strategies, ideas and resources for classroom and individual use.
